Apps can *play* songs from the iTunes library. Apps cannot *access* the audio data directly though.
Tunewiki just plays songs. Equalizer processes music and needs access to the audio data to do that.
Think of it as reading a text on the computer. To read it (play) you only have view the text. If you want to edit (process) the text you have to have access to the data. Apple is not giving apps access to the iTunes library song data.
Hope I managed to explain this somewhat satisfactory.

Hey there,

congrats on the Equalizer app, it looks fantastic, cant wait to give it a try.

You say: "Unfortunatly there is no direct access to the iTunes library on your device. This is a limitation imposed by Apple and there is currently nothing (short of Jailbreaking) to go around that."

But then how do you explain apps like tunewiki ??

Cheers

Ernie: Download kits by clicking on them and saving them to your computer. Then go to www.intua.net and get the manual for Beatmaker.
Let me know if you have more specific questions.

John: No, it is unfortunatly not possible the way ibeatmaker.com is set up. It is a security issue if I have a direct IP, give access to the file structure and have uploads enabled. You will have to go over a local computer on your wifi.

Thanks for your note.
I agree on the navigation. The site is not easy to navigate. I will try to fix it asap.
As for the tutorials: I would love to post some. But creating tutorials takes quite some time. I might just link to some youtube tuts as a start...

First of all great idea in having all the kits available in one place, very helpful =D

I think you should maybe add some tutorials with screen prints/vids etc. to help people out as you seem quite knowledgeable. The site would be easier to function if you made some main navigation, Home, BeatMaker Kits etc.. and I don’t really like the main header, but that’s up to you.

Thanks for all these great kits everyone.
